At another time, Caesar was crossing a narrow sea in a boat. Before he was halfway to the farther shore, a storm overtook him. The wind blew hard, the waves dashed high; the lightning flashed, the thunder rolled. It seemed every minute as though the boat would sink. The captain was in great fright. He had crossed the sea many times, but never in such a storm as this. He trembled with fear, he could not guide the boat. He fell down upon his knees, he moaned, "All is lost! All is lost!" But Caesar was not afraid. He bade the man get up and take his oars again. "Why should you be afraid?" he said. "The boat will not be lost, for you have Caesar on board."
a storm overlook him: 폭풍이 그를 덮쳤다. 즉, 폭풍을 만났다.
blew hard: 심하게 불었다.
the waves dashed high: 파도가 높이, 즉 세차게 부딪쳤다.

on board: 승선한, 탑승한.
해석 또 한번은 시저가 보트를 타고 협소한 바다를 건너고 있었습니다. 건너편에 있는 해안을 향해 반을 채 건너지 못했을 때 폭풍이 닥쳤습니다. 바람은 강하게 불었고, 파도가 높이 일었으며, 번개가 번쩍이고, 천둥이 우르르했습니다. 언제라도 배가 가라앉을 것 같았습니다. 선장은 엄청난 두려움에 사로 잡혔습니다. 그는 이 바다를 여러 번 건넜지만 이 같은 폭풍은 처음이었습니다. 그는 두려움에 떨었으며, 배를 몰 수가 없었습니다. 그는 무릎을 꿇고 신음했습니다. “끝장이다! 모든 것이 파멸이다!” 그러나 시저는 두려워하지 않았습니다. 그는 선장에게 일어나 다시 노를 잡으라고 명령했습니다. “너는 왜 두려워하느냐?” 그가 말했습니다. “보트는 가라앉지 않는다. 시저를 배 위에 태우고 있지 않느냐.”
