2. 분사구문의 쓰임 : 시간, 이유, 조건, 양보

1 시간 (접속사 : after, when, as)

a. When she saw me, she suddenly stood up.

→Seeing me, she suddenly stood up.

b. As he found his baby, he was so happy.

→Finding his baby, he was so happy.

2 이유 (접속사 : as, because)

a. Because he knew her phone number, he could call her.

→Knowing her phone number, he could call her.

b. As he was sick, he was absent.

→Being sick, he was absent.

3 조건 (접속사 : if)

If you have a great dream, you can be great.

→Having a great dream, you can be great.

4 양보 (접속사 : though, although)

Though she worked hard, she couldn’t finish her work.

→Working hard, she couldn’t finish her work.

다음 부사절을 분사구문으로 바꾸시오.

1. If you are busy, you don’t have to help me.

→___________________________, you don’t have to help me.

→Being busy

2. As she didn’t know him well, she didn’t talk to him.

→___________________________, she didn’t talk to him.

→Not knowing him well

3. As he arrived in New York, he met Bill Clinton.

→___________________________, he met Bill Clinton.

→Arriving in New York
