Chapter One – The Dashwoods

The Dashwoods lived in the Southern English town of Sussex for many generations. They owned a large country house named Norland Park. The head of the family was old Mr. Dashwood, and elderly unmarried gentle man. During the last years of Mr. Dashwood’s life, he invited his nephew, Henry Dashwood, and his family to move into Norland Park.

대시우드 가문은 여러 대에 걸쳐 영국 남부의 서섹스에서 살았다. 그들은 노어랜드 파크라는 큰 시골 저택을 소유하고 있었다. 가문의 어른은 나이가 지긋한 미혼의 신사인 대시우드 씨였다. 말년에 대시우드 씨는 조카인 헨리 대시우드와 그의 가족을 노어랜드 파크로 이사 오도록 초청했다.
